2008 ARIAS AWARDS -
RED CARPET |
National
Country Music Muster
2008 - Gympie/Amamoor Queensland |
|

Hamish and Andy
hosted the 2008 Aria Awards. Abseiling down from Acer
Arena’s ceiling they set the heights of what was yet to come.
Gabriella Cilmi and The Presets were the Aria’s
favourites of the night, along with
blind Aboriginal singer,
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu
(2008 Arias Fine Arts Award), all who performed on the
night. Other performances included Sam
Sparro,
The Living End,
Faker, The
Veronicas, and
the amazing international guest Pink. |
Great
weather, great acts, great Muster!
The National Country Music Muster is held every year at Amamoor near
Gympie. Amazing acts such as Pete Murray, Jimmy
Barnes, Ian Moss along with a dash of
comedy with Tripod and others, added some variety to this
music festival. |

various charities.
After being “treated as gods” in the USA and establishing a
strong fan base in
Australia,
Midnight
Oil’s
Rob Hirst and
Martin Rotsey, team up with
Dom Turner to form the Angry

that everyone was either an angry tradesman or has hired
one! |

“Music is more
like a sentence that you carry to your grave, unless you are the

Troy
Cassar-Daley knew at an early age that music was his
passion. He always enjoyed listening particularly to
Country Music.
For
Troy, part of the growing up was playing guitar with his
mother who he nagged to play. |
Troy supports
The Fred Hollows Foundation.
This
organisation was inspired by the work of the late Professor Fred Hollows who was an eye doctor and skilled
surgeon. By reducing the cost of cataract operations to as little as
$25, The
Fred Hollows Foundation
has helped to restore the sight of more than one million people
worldwide. |

talented musician. Receiving a standing ovation for
his performance and winning first prize gave Nick
a massive confidence boost,
but he is still
a little shocked about being selected.
